Adwa Victory Day (Ethiopia)

A national annual public holiday in Ethiopia, this day celebrates Ethiopia’s 1896 victory over Italy after many years of war. The victory was finally secured in the northern town of Adwa. The day is a celebration of Ethiopian sovereignty and independence.
