Asalha – Dharma Day

Asalha, also known as Dharma Day, is a Buddhist celebration commemorating the day when the Buddha delivered his first sermon at Sarnath in Uttar Pradesh, India. It falls on the first full moon of the eighth lunar month. On this auspicious day, devotees visit temples to listen to sermons, offer tithes to monks, and engage in the practice of dharma. Candles and incense are commonly lit during the sermons as a symbol of reverence and spiritual illumination.
