Bodhi Day (Buddhist)

An annual Buddhist day of celebration in Japan and elsewhere, marking the day Siddhartha Gautama achieved enlightenment through meditation and became the Buddha. In China and Tibet and elsewhere, Bodhi Day is often celebrated in May. It is not a public holiday.
