Boquerón Battle Victory Day

Boquerón Battle Victory Day is a cultural holiday celebrated annually on September 29th in Paraguay. This holiday commemorates the first battle of the Chaco War, fought from September 7-29, 1932, between the Bolivian and Paraguayan armies in and around the stronghold of Boquerón. The purpose of this holiday is to remember the battle heroes and celebrate the victory of the Paraguayan army. Schools and most businesses are closed, and the general population has the day off to participate in cultural events and activities.
