Eid-e-Shuja’ (Eid-e-Zahra)

Eid-e-Shuja’ marks the end of the two-month mourning period after the events of the Karbala massacre for Shia Muslims. A festival is held by Shia Muslims in Iran, commemorating the assassination of the second caliph, Umar ibn al-Khat by the Persian slave Abu Lu’lu’a Firuz. Prayers are conducted on this day, calling on Allah to bless and bring peace to the individuals who lost their lives in the battles, and their families.
