Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s Birthday

This day is celebrated by Sikh people worldwide to commemorate the birthday of Sikh Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who was born in the year 1666 and is considered the last of the ten living Sikh Gurus. Guru Gobind Singh Ji became a guru at age nine, following the death of his father. One of his contributions to the Sikh world was the religious observance of covering a man’s hair with a turban.
