Independence Day (Armenia)

Independence Day in Armenia commemorates Armenia’s 1991 independence from the now-defunct Soviet Union, and its establishment as a republic. The day is celebrated with events such as the national awards ceremony by the President of Armenia, historical events at primary and secondary school, an armed forces exhibition and parade and concerts in many public squares.
