International Day for the Abolition of Slavery

International Day for the Abolition of Slavery was established by the UN in 1986, the focus of this day is to eradicate contemporary forms of slavery and human trafficking. It is a day of remembrance and recognition and an urgent call on Member States of the UN, civil society, and the private sector to strengthen collective action to put a permanent end to slavery.
