International Day for the Right to the Truth concerning Gross Human Rights Violations and for the Dignity of Victims
International Day for the Right to the Truth concerning Gross Human Rights Violations and for the Dignity of Victims is annual observance was established by the UN in 2010 and pays tribute to the memory of former Archbishop of San Salvador Óscar Arnulfo Romero, murdered on this day in 1980. Romero was an outspoken critic of the military government of El Salvador and denounced violations of the human rights of the most vulnerable individuals in El Salvador.
