International Day of the Seafarer
Established by the UN in 2011, the International Day of the Seafarer serves multiple purposes. It aims to raise public awareness about the challenges confronting modern-day seafarers, including piracy and other safety concerns. Additionally, it seeks to express gratitude for the invaluable contributions made by seafarers to our global well-being and economy. Moreover, the day encourages governments to acknowledge the crucial role of seafarers and work towards easing restrictions that may hinder their vital work.
