Khao Phansa (Buddhist Lent Day)

Khao Phansa, also known as Buddhist Lent Day or Buddhist Rains Retreat, is a significant Buddhist holiday observed on the first day after the full moon of the eighth lunar month. This day marks the beginning of the rainy season and the traditional time when many monks retreat to their temples and monasteries for three months of intensive study and meditation. Throughout this period, various Khao Phansa festivals are held across Thailand to commemorate the occasion.
