Mid-Autumn Festival (China)

Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the biggest festivals celebrated in China, on par with Chinese New Year. It takes place on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar and is based on the legend of Chang’e, the Moon goddess in Chinese mythology and dates back more than 3000 years. Traditions of the festival are family reunion and activities like moon gazing and sharing moon cakes.
