Preseren’s Day (Slovenia)

A national public holiday to commemorate poet, France Prešeren (1800–1849), regarded as the father of Slovenian poetry. His poems continue to be widely read. The day is marked by various cultural and literary events, including poetry readings, musical performances and exhibitions.
