Republic of Korea Liberation Day (Korea)
Republic of Korea Liberation Day, observed in both North and South Korea, commemorates the end of Japanese colonial rule over Korea and the subsequent liberation of the Korean peninsula. This historic event, marking victory over Japan, is celebrated with various events in South Korea, including an official ceremony attended by the President. Symbolizing national pride and unity, the Korean flag replaces other flags, such as those at the Olympic stadium and Olympic Park. Additionally, buildings and homes demonstrate their patriotism by displaying the Korean flag.
