World Cities Day

World Cities Day was established by the UN General Assembly to address challenges of urbanisation and promote sustainable urban development around the world. The campaign Urban October emerged from this movement in 2016. The mission is to engage the international community in progressing the New Urban Agenda to achieve UN’s sustainable development goals. The day aims to bring attention to the challenges and risks posed to the safety and settlement of the global community due to the rapid growth of cities.
