Martyrdom of the Báb

This day is a commemoration of the 1850 martyrdom of the co-founder of the Baha’i religion, known as the Báb, accused of being an apostate and executed in Persia by order of the prime minister of the Persian Empire by a firing squad of 750 men. In 1909, after having been hidden away in the interim, the Báb’s remains were entombed in a golden-domed shrine surrounded by spectacular gardens on Mount Carmel in northern Israel… Click here to register to read more.
