Established in 1988, this day is designed to raise awareness and promote the best practices in Information Security. The unofficial holiday encourages people to secure their computers and their personal information by securing all electronic devices and online passwords. On this day, people are encouraged to generate new, secure passwords, update protection software, back up files and attend security information seminars.
