International Day in Support of Victims of Torture

Created by the UN in 1997, the purpose of this day is to encourage all stakeholders including UN Member States, civil society and individuals everywhere to call for total eradication of torture and for the effective functioning of the UN Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment.
