World Elder Abuse Awareness Day

Established by the UN in 2011, the purpose of this day is to raise public awareness and urge governing bodies to design and implement more effective prevention strategies to address all aspects of elder abuse. The day recognises that elder abuse is an important societal problem throughout the world that is often hidden from public view.
