Nirvana Day
Nirvana Day also known as Parinirvana Da, Nirvana Day commemorates the death of Buddha when he completed Nirvana, the highest stage of enlightenment at the age of 80. The day is observed in the Mahayana Buddhist tradition, celebrated by meditating or by going to Buddhist temples or monasteries and hearing passages on Buddha’s final days. It is customary, also, to think on one’s own mortality, and that of friends and family, in order to reflect on the Buddhist teachings on the impermanence of all things.
